The conservation and education committees were combined this year.  This committee focuses on opportunities which relate to education and conservation efforts in our area.  Projects in the past have included: RIF, collecting stuffed animals for the police department, donating books to the library in the name of a member's newborn baby, collecting items for the Falls Church/McLean Children's Center and planting trees.  Denise Byrne heads the committee up this year.  She's looking for lots of new ideas and support!

Reading is Fundamental is one of our very regular projects.  RIF is a great opportunity for volunteers to read and distribute books at the Fall's Church/McLean Children's Center.  There is a new director at Falls Church/McLean Children's Center and the dates for this year are still being sorted out.  We are hopefully that the dates will be set and announced at the September general meeting.
