NDWC members and families join together in front of the McLean Giant to ask the community for donations for Share.
Also, in December NDWC members are called upon to help with Share’s holiday celebration.
Share provides assistance with food, clothing, linens, furniture and emergency funding in the McLean area.
Holiday Celebration Saturday, December 14, 2019
There are lots of ways you can help:
This year SHARE requested we donate "Baby Bags" for their youngest clients. Baby Bags are fun. ContactSherri Heile (or 703-216-7074) to get a baby gender, their diaper and PJ sizes. You will buy a package of diapers, wipes, rash cream, maybe some other toiletry items, PJs and a toy/book/hat.
Or you can purchase gift cards to Giant, Safeway, Target or Walmart. It is getting easier and easier.
You can check out the SHARE tree at Giant starting late November. Purchase a gift card or 2 right there in the store, turn it in to customer service and SHARE will pick it up. $25 cards are the most handy but we will gratefully take donations smaller or larger.
Of course, one of the MOST popular stores is Walmart and their gift cards can only be purchased at their store OR on-line. Purchase on-line and email to shareholidaymail@gmail.com. (This is true for the other stores as well.)
If SHARE is new to you visit their website or contact Sherri. Our club has been helping our community for many years by supporting SHARE.
NDWC Stuffs the Truck for SHARE March 9, 2019
On March 9, NDWC members and families joined together in front of the McLean Giant to ask the community for donations for Share. The McLean community came through with a truck full of items as well as over $500 in monetary contributions which were used to purchase items for the Share pantry. Thanks to everyone for joining together to support one of our 2018-2019 NDWC beneficiaries.
Congratulations on a very successful food drive last May!!
Thanks to everyone who volunteered for our food drive at Giant Grocery store to benefit our local food pantry at SHARE of McLean!
All 500 pre-sorted bags were sold out even before we started on Saturday and $1,235 in cash and gift cards was donated.
Although we had a successful inaugural food drive, SHARE of McLean is always in need of volunteers and donations - please consider donating to SHARE directly.
